December 6th's Book Beginnings and Friday 56

It's been a long week.  Very busy at work.  But it is Friday, so it is time for Book Beginnings and Friday 56.

This week, I'm featuring On Borrowed Time by Jenn McKinlay.

I actually finished the book yesterday.  It was tons of fun.  I'll be reviewing it next week.  Most likely Wednesday, but we will see.  I still have to write the review for one thing.

But that's next week.  For now, here's how the book begins:

Lindsay Norris, director of the Briar Creek Public Library, strode across the library with her keys in her hand.

Not much action in that sentence, but it starts in just a couple of pages.  And it escalates quickly.  Here's a couple of sentences from page 56 that show just how quickly things escalate.

Lindsay turned her stunned face to Sully.  "I think my brother has just been kidnapped."
"Not yet, he hasn't," Sully said.

Have a wonderful weekend.

  1. The Library Lover's Mystery Series is one of my favorite cozy mystery series to date. I haven't read this particular book yet, but I want to. Enjoy your current read!
