January 2nd's Book Beginnings and Friday 56

Time to start off the new year with Book Beginnings and Friday 56.

Right now, I'm reading For Whom the Bluebell Tolls by Beverly Allen.  This is the second in the series, and I am loving it (although I will admit I've just gotten to page 56.  Need to make more time to read!)

And here's how the book begins.

"Audrey, I..."
I stood on my front stoop, hand-in-hand with Nick Maxwell after one of our sporadic dinner dates.
Page 56 is just a couple of lines since it is the end of a chapter, but I was able to find this quote from a character.

"Maybe somebody saw him with somebody.  Maybe somebody followed him."

I'm working on an ARC since the book comes out on Tuesday.  I'm going to have to get reading if I hope to finish it and have the review ready to go that day.

Happy New Year, every one!

    1. The quotes may not sound like it, but this is definitely a cozy, and quite a good one.

    1. It's always hard to work in all the books you want to read, isn't it?

I've got about 60 pages to go. Think I should finish it off just fine.
