April 1st's Book Beginnings and Friday 56

Wow, it's gotten late.  Better get Book Beginnings and Friday 56 done so I can go to bed.

This week's book is the fabulous Rest in Peach by Susan Furlong.

I've actually finished the book (review and giveaway coming on Thursday), and it is fabulous.

Here's how it begins:
Frances Simms's beady eyes were enough to make my skin crawl on any given day, but at that particular moment the presence of the incessantly determined owner and editor of our town's one and only newspaper was enough to frazzle my last nerve.

And, moving on to page 56, we find:

Ginny turned and offered me a meek and grateful smile.  "I'm just so grateful you called your brother, Nola.  I was being so pigheaded about teh whole lawyer thing, but it looks like I may need Ray after all."

Have a great weekend.

  3. Great looking book. I don't read enough cozies and wish I had time for more. I am featuring Hold Your Breath by Katie Ruggle this week. Happy reading!

  5. I want to read this one! Of course there's not many cozies that I don't want to read. I love the whole peach idea as come summertime I'm obsessed with all things peach. I like the teasers - especially the 56 where Ginny admits she needs help. I hate when characters are stubbornly illogical for too long.
