June 2nd's Book Beginnings and Friday 56

It's Friday, which can only mean one thing - time again for Book Beginnings and Friday 56.

This week, I'm spotlighting The Last Dinosaur by Sandy Dengler.

Don't worry, you haven't fallen into some alternative universe.  I'm still reading mysteries.  In fact, this is a reread for me of a book I first read 20+ years ago.
And here is how the book starts:

The world was upside down.  This couldn't be happening.  A person she trusted...not a person she liked particularly, but a person she trusted...someone who should know better...and now this.  Someone help me!

And now from page 56:

In a photograph or television camera he'd be an ordinary preacher, unremarkable in any way.  Here in person he vibrated with a magnetic intensity.

I'm not much beyond page 56 at the moment, but I'm enjoying it as much as I remember enjoying it before.

Hope you have a great weekend!

  1. It's always good when you still enjoy a book when you reread it long after your first read :)

  2. A reread tells us a lot...I have a few of those, just waiting. They are the books that helped create our reading likes and dislikes.

Thanks for sharing, and here's mine: “ONE GOOD THING”

  3. I love when I enjoy a reread just as much as I did the original read. Not so sure about this one but since it's a reread for you I'll have to go find out more about it!

  4. I like to reread favorite books. Some I own several copies of. I have a feeling this isn't about a dinosaur.
