Welcome to the Annual VeggieTales Christmas Party

A Very Veggie Christmas is the Veggie's first Christmas CD from early in their career. While not an animated video like they normally produce, kids (and adults) already a fan of the series will love this CD.

Bob the Tomato is hosting the first annual Veggie Christmas party. It promises to be an international night, with Larry, Junior, Archibald, and others performing Christmas songs from around the world. And the food will be traditional Polish Christmas dishes. If Oscar the caterer ever shows up.

This CD is fun for all ages, just like other VeggieTales products. I frequently find myself laughing and singing along. It does feature the songs from their first Christmas video, The Toy that Saved Christmas, so if you're looking for that soundtrack, this is the place. In fact, I suspect that this CD was produced for the sole purpose of getting those song onto a CD. They mix some lesser known Christmas carols together with more familiar ones, so it seems fresher then many adult Christmas CDs. Granted, they sound like the cartoon characters they are, so this isn't high art, but I have really come to love "He is Born, the Holy Child" and "Ring, Little Bells" from this CD. I could do with out "The Boar's Head Carol" and the story behind it. Of course, it's hard not to like a CD that features the silly song "Oh Santa!"

If your kids are fans of these veggies, they'll play A Very Veggie Christmas over and over during the holiday season. The nice thing is, it won't annoy you in the process. A sure fire hit that will please everyone who hears it.
