Joe Cool is Rocking Those Christmas Songs on His Guitar

I would guess that most people are like me, and when someone mentions the comic strip Peanuts to them, they almost immediately think of the dog, Snoopy.  That's why it's really no surprise that he rounds out the original four members of Hallmark's Peanuts Wireless Band.

It really also came as no surprise to me that Snoopy is playing the guitar in this band.  In can picture his alter ego Joe Cool being quite the rock star.  That's not quite the look they went with here, however.  Snoopy is dressed in a red coat with a green scarf.  Naturally, he's wearing his red hat.  He's the tallest member of the band because he's standing on a red amp.  To complete the theme, his guitar is green.

As with the other members of the band, Snoopy takes the lead on two songs.  They switch back and forth, and you can start him by pressing the button at the front of the piece.  Snoopy gets "Jolly Old St. Nicholas" and "Silent Night."  The first song is very hard to recognize.  In fact, at first I always think its "Jingle Bells."  Eventually, I do catch on, but it's probably the worst of the songs the band plays.  "Silent Night," however, is great.  Both songs are more acoustic than the amp would lead you to believe, and you can hear the melody being picked out on the strings.

All four members of this band communicate wirelessly, so when one starts to play, any of the others that are turned on play along.  It's a fun addition to the set.  You can place them around a room for the ultimate mixing effect.  Snoopy tends to stand out a bit from the others, but in a good way, and I like what he adds to the band.  Like the others, he takes three AAA batteries to operate.

These are bigger than the normal Hallmark ornament and no designed to be displayed on a tree.  Instead, they have a nice big base and sit on any flat surface perfectly.  Set them under your tree, on a table or mantle or bookcase….  You get the idea.

Snoopy also rocks back and forth to the beat of the music he is playing.  His movements must be gentle because he doesn't make any noise when he hits the end of his little arc, unlike some of his band mates.

Snoopy was the last of the four released, and he was my biggest must have.  I'm thrilled I was able to add him to my Peanuts Wireless Band.
