Is This Cheshire Cat Ornament All There?

In 2012, Hallmark decided to release another limited ornament based on a character from Disney’s version of Alice in Wonderland.  This time, they went with The Cheshire Cat, and any fan of the movie will want him.

Just like the character in the movie, this ornament is a big different. What do I mean?  Well, despite the quote I ripped off in the title, the cat is certainly all there.  But he is standing on his head.  That’s right, the top of the ornament is the tail while the bottom is his head with his hands folded under it.  Right there alone, I fell in love with him.

Of course, the cat looks just like he does in the movie.  He’s painted in light pink and dark pink stripes.  His expression is the teasing grin he had so much of the time that drove Alice quite mad herself.  And he's got big yellow eyes that will drive you mad as well.  I already mentioned that his front legs are folded under his head, but his back legs are sticking straight out to the sides.  It's a very fun pose.

Since the ornament is standing on its head, it’s not that surprising that it does not stand on its own in any way, shape, or form.  Instead, you’ve got to hang it from your tree.

The loop for hanging the ornament is provided in the tip of the cat’s tail.  Slip a hook through that and you’ll find that he hangs perfectly straight.

The color of this ornament will stand out nicely on your green or white Christmas tree.  And it just screams the character to me.  I couldn’t imagine a better pose for the character than this one.  He'll definitely make you grin.

The one thing that surprised me most about the ornament is how heavy it is.  He is much heavier than he looks.  So you’ll want to hang him on a sturdy branch a little ways from the end to make sure he doesn’t slip off sometime between decorating and Christmas morning.

That one warning aside, if you are a fan of Alice in Wonderland, you really do need to track down Hallmark’s limited edition ornament of The Cheshire Cat.

Original Price: $14.95
