This week's book is Move Your Blooming Corpse by D. E. Ireland. This is the second in the Eliza Doolittle and Henry Higgins Mysteries.
The book comes out on September 22nd. I was fortunate enough to get an ARC, which I'm really enjoying. I'll have my full review and a giveaway on release day, so be sure to come back then.
Here's how the book begins:
A high-pitched scream pierced the air.
Doesn't waste any time, does it?
And on page 56, we get this gem:
"If I'd known they were going to have us arrested, I would have hit him over the head with my picket sign."
That's it for the week. Hope you have a nice, relaxing weekend.
Great opening. Peaked my interest. By the way, what was the scream about? :-)

I can't tell you that. You need to read the book and find out for yourself.
DeleteI like that it starts with a scream, not a lot of build up, and the 56 gives a taste of humor, which I enjoy.
ReplyDeleteAnd the series has a nice dash of humor. There is a little more build up than it looks like here, but there really isn't much in this book.
DeleteThe first book was a lot of fun. I love the concept of it all. The beginning and 56 are just great!
ReplyDeleteIf you liked the first book, you'll enjoy this one as well.
DeleteThis series just looks like so much fun and I absolutely love the teaser. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely recommend this series. Both books have been great.
DeleteI love the snark in the title. I hope it continues in the story!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
There are moments of snark for sure in the book.
DeleteI spotted that title and laughed out loud! So many great cozies, so little time!
