Alice Has Shrunk to the Size of a Window

With all of Alice’s crazy adventures, she never got stuck in a window – until now.  Of course, the window I’m talking about is her entry in Disney’s Windows of Magic pin series.

Like the others, this pin is designed to mimic a stained-glass window.  Unfortunately, the back is solid, so it doesn’t work as real stained glass.  (If Disney released these as real hanging items for windows, I’d buy them.  Listening, Disney?)  Anyway, for fans of stained-glass, these are fun.

Alice is featured very prominently in this window, taking up over two thirds of it.  She is wearing her white and blue dress and smiling out at us.

However, the fun of these pins always come from what is around the character.  In this case, we don’t see any other characters.  Well, mostly.  In the bottom of the window, we can see some flowers behind Alice from the “All in the Golden Afternoon” song.  Up above Alice, are some of the items she eats and drinks that make her change size.  They are even labeled as they are in the movie.  Finally, on the top of the frame itself, we’ve got a tea cup.  The sides of the window are either leaves or the designs from the tea cups.

Alice had so many wild adventures, it’s nice to see so many of them represented in the window.  A few more characters appeared in the companion Windows of Evil pin, so between the two, we really have a good representation of Alice’s adventures.

I realize I haven’t discussed the weight of these pins.  They are bigger than the typical Disney pin, although not by much.  However, they weigh more.  To help with that, there are two posts in the back.  Even so, I’m not sure I’d want to wear one all day in the park.  They seem like they would easily catch on something and come off because of their weight.  These are more something you display.  Now, I just need to figure out how to do that.

And that’s not a complaint; I really enjoy these pins.  Alice’s Window of Magic is a wonderful pin that captures some of the fun scenes of the movie.
