A Wild Cuckoo Clock Pin

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland will always have a special place in my heart since it was the first rollercoaster I ever went on.  So even if I weren’t collecting the rest of the Cuckoo for Disney Pins series, I would have been tempted by this pin.

This series of pins features cuckoo clocks themed around classic Disney attractions.  In this case, we’ve got a rugged mountain coming out of the top of the clock.  Next to the peak are a mountain goat and a pick.  We see a couple cacti.  The face of the clock itself looks like it is in a train car.  There are two lights off to the side.  And the weight coming out of the bottom of the pin is round with the initials BTM it in like Disney sometimes does for this attraction.

There’s a lot of western in there.  In fact, the clock face is a little overwhelmed by everything else around it.  But that’s a minor complaint since it captures so much from the ride.

And here’s another fun little touch.  The lanterns actually glow in the dark.  They need to be in the light to charge up, but once they do, they let off a little light when in a dark room.  It’s those kinds of touches that I love.

So if you are a fan of the ride, you’ll be happy you tracked down Big Thunder Mountain’s entry in the Cuckoo for Disney Pins series.  It’s a creative tribute to the wildest ride in the wilderness.
