Mother's Day Sunday/Monday Post

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers reading this.  Hope your kids spoil you.  I will be calling my mom for Mother's Day since she is too far away to visit, sadly.

It's time for another Sunday/Monday post, and I will be linking up to:

It's Monday, What Are You Reading?

It was a busy week for me at work.  The first week of the month usually is since I'm an accountant for a company and we have to close the books.  But we did!  The hardest part was all the work we did the week before, honestly.  With that behind us, this week seemed to flow smoothly.

Today, I got out and went for a hike in a nearby county park.  Got to enjoy a little bit of green still.  It won't be long until just about everything around here is brown.  There was even still a little water in the creek.

That was pretty much my week, so shall we move on?

This Past Week on the Blog:

This Coming Week on the Blog:

Sunday - Disney Pin Review: Stitch Crashes Peter Pan
Monday - Ornament Review: Book Lover Belle
Tuesday - Book Review: The Shadow of Memory by Connie Berry
Wednesday - TV Show Review: Moon Knight
Thursday - Book Review: Murder at Blackwater Bend by Clara McKenna
Friday - ????  Most likely a Friday post
Saturday - Weekly TV Thoughts

No, I haven't quite decided what I will post next Friday.  I'm not too impressed with either of the books I've read to review next week, so I don't want to highlight them.  But I'll be starting a third, so maybe that will have some good quotes I can use.  I know I like the author, so I expect the book to be one I'll want to promote as well.  If not, it will be a movie review.  I've got a ton of movie reviews sitting on my hard drive waiting for me to post.

Book Haul for the Week:

I was cutting back on books this week.  Or so I said when the week started.  I still wound up with three new books.

Murder with Lemon Tea Cakes by Karen Rose Smith is a book I've been eyeing for a while.  The ebook went on sale this week, so I snagged it.  Sadly, it looks like the sale is over today.  Lots of people like this series, so I'm happy to give it a try...at some point.

More immediate will be The Navigator's Daughter.  I've enjoyed one of author Nancy Cole Silverman's earlier series, so I'm anxious to get into her new series.  She sent me an eARC.  The book comes out June 7th, so I'll be reading this one shortly.

Finally, my pre-order of Murder on Madison Square by Victoria Thompson arrived.  I know I won't get to this one until next year some time.  It's number 25 in the series, and I just read number 20 last month.  It's rare that I don't read a series in order, so I'm not planning to skip ahead to this one, especially since I'm so close.

What I'm Currently Reading:

I finished up a book on Saturday, so Sunday and Monday, I'll be diving into The Lessons We Learn by Liz Milliron  It's the third in a series set in Buffalo during World War II.  I enjoyed the first couple of books in the series, so I'm looking forward to this one.

That about wraps things up here.  Have a great week, everyone.

The books look good. I've been lucky and liked the books I've read recently. It's always a worry when I am on a blog tour that I might not enjoy them!

    Have a great weekend!

  11. Getting out for a hike sounds great and in So Cal we've had really good weather for it recently. Looks like you've got some good books coming up. I've just tested positive for Covid so am glad that I work from home. It's crazy to see all the appointments, etc that I have to cancel this week!

  12. I hope your mom has a great Mother's Day! :)

Love the pic- and hiking too. Murder at Blackwater Bend looks good, so I'll be curious to see what you thought of it, and your thoughts on Moon Knight too, which I had mixed feelings about.

  18. We always say we will cut back our books and then... I bet getting out in the fresh air after dealing with all those numbers is exactly what your head needed.

  22. Your green turning brown is just the opposite of here. Winter dull is just starting to green up. I'm looking forward to some leaves on trees. I like reading a series in order too but I have a review book on my stack that is numbered somewhere in the 20s and I've only read the first book. Should be interesting! Come see my week here. Happy reading!
