November 21st's Book Beginning and Friday 56

Yep, it's that time of the week again.  We've made it to another Book Beginning and Friday 56!

The book I'm featuring this week is Days of Wine and Roquefort by Avery Aames.  I actually just finished the book a few hours again, and I will have the review and a giveaway up on Monday, so be sure to come back.

So how does the fifth in this popular series begin?  I'm glad you asked.

"Get a move on, Charlotte Bessette," I muttered.  Time and I were not fast friends.

I'm actually using the first sentence from page 56 this time.  So does that make this Friday 56 beginning?

Rebecca saluted while mumbling, "Spoilsport," under her breath.  Real adult.

So there you have it.  See you Monday for the review, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving to my American readers if I don't see you before.

  4. Sounds like such a cute read! I love cheese AND cozies, so this one must be a winner. Also love that line about "time and I" not being pals. Thanks for sharing this.

    1. I love cheese, but there are so many mentioned in this book I've never tried much less heard of. Makes me want to try more of them.

  5. I haven't started this series yet, but I love her Cookbook Nook series as Daryl Wood Gerber. But since I do love my cheese, I have to move these up my list!

  8. I love the beginning and can definitely relate to time not being her friend! I read the first one of this and didn't love it but I'll have to come check out your review. Maybe it's time I gave this series another chance.

    1. Too easy to just waste time, isn't it?
