Some Cute Elements, but the Eleventh Cookie Cutter Christmas Wasn’t My Favorite Present

Since it started, I’ve enjoyed the creativity of the Cookie Cutter Christmas series, which features a mouse doing something Christmassy inside a related shaped cookie cutter.  A few are plainer than others, and unfortunately, the eleventh was one of those.

The theme this year is Christmas presents.  The cookie cutter shape, which frames the scene, is supposed to be a present.  It’s boxy until about half way up, at which point, we get some bumps that are supposed to be the lid.  There’s a bow on top, which is more obvious than the lid of the box.

Inside, we see our mouse friend sitting by his Christmas tree.  There are three presents wrapped under the tree, and he’s holding one of them.  The Christmas tree skirt is red and white stripped, which makes it look like a peppermint candy.  The tree itself looks like squished gumdrops with licorice wrapped around it like garland.  There’s even a star on top.

The inside scene is cute, and as I look closely at it, it does have the elements I enjoy about the series.  I enjoy seeing treats worked into the scene, and the mouse is always cute.

I think my biggest issue is the package frame.  It’s very square, and the bow on top doesn’t do much to help it out.  I just normally expect something a little more creative.

We also get lots of one tone blue behind the tree.  If you just glance at the ornament, it tends to overwhelm the scene.

On the plus side, the boxy shape means the ornament has a nice flat base, so you can set it out to be displayed any place you want.  It also hangs straight when you go to put it on your tree.

Since this is the eleventh in the series, you’ll find the 11 in a Christmas tree on the back of the ornament, although with the handle you’d use if this were a real cookie cutter.

Fans of the series will want to add this to their collection.  But if you are only casually collecting the Cookie Cutter Christmas ornaments, you and skip this one.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Cookie Cutter Christmas ornaments.
