Catch Snoopy, Woodstock
As they catch winter snowflakes
In small but fun piece
Catching Snowflakes on Your Tongue is Fun
I have never lived where it snows, but I have always loved
the discussion of trying to catch snowflakes on your tongue from early in A Charlie Brown Christmas. I was thrilled when I saw that Hallmark had
chosen to include that activity for the sixteenth entry in the Winter Fun with
Snoopy series.
This ornament is extremely simple. It is Snoopy and Woodstock standing with
their tongues sticking out. However, you
can see that they both have a snowflake on the tip of their tongue. Snoopy is wearing a light blue hat and scarf
and appears to be on his tip toes with his arms behind him as he strains to
catch that flake, but other than that, it is just the characters and the two
snowflakes.
A part of me wonders if this ornament is too simple, but the
rest of me wonders what else you could possibly do with this theme. Anything else would just get in the way. And this is a miniature ornament, so less
really is more. What else could you add
to an ornament an inch at its biggest?
Snoopy and Woodstock are standing in glitter covered plastic
meant to represent snow, and that gives us the flat base needed to set this
ornament out. Just remember the size
again. You’ll want to make sure you have
a nice place to set it out where it won’t be easily overlooked. You’ll also find the series marker on the
bottom of the ornament.
Or you can hang the ornament. The loop is on top of Snoopy’s hat. Like Snoopy, this ornament tips forward ever
so slightly. It actually works to make
it feel like Snoopy is straining that much more to catch the snowflake.
This is a simple ornament to capture a simple joy. Peanuts fans will be glad to have the
miniature sixteenth Winter Fun with Snoopy ornament in their collection.
