This Tree Really Will be Perfect for Your Tree

Thanks to the popularity of A Charlie Brown Christmas, everyone knows about those small trees that need a little extra love.  So I wasn’t surprised to find the December ornament for Hallmark’s Happiness is Peanuts All Year Long series was A Very Special Tree.

This is Charlie Brown’s first appearance in the series, and he’s standing behind a small tree with only a few short branches on it.  He’s smiling as he goes to put a blue ball ornament on the tree.  He’s standing on a thin white base that obviously represents snow.

Peanuts fan that I am, I love it.  I would have been disappointed with anything else for December.  I have a feeling this will prove to be a very popular ornament in the series since the TV special is always so popular.  Furthermore, with the obvious tie in to Christmas, those who aren’t collecting the rest of the series will still want this one.  In fact, I’m thinking of buying a second one so I’ll have one to display in my stand and one to hang on my Christmas tree.

Speaking of the display stand, the background for this ornament even harkens back to the special.  It’s mostly white with snow, but in the background you can see Snoopy’s prize winning decorated doghouse with stars twinkling in the sky.  It’s perfect.

Hanging this ornament on the stand once again proves difficult.  If you try it, Charlie just turns to the side.  Fortunately, there is the nice base to this ornament so he stands just fine in front of that backdrop or anywhere else you want to display him.  And you'll find the 5 in a Christmas tree on the bottom of that base as well.

If you want to hang him on your tree, you’ll find the brass look on the top of Charlie’s head.  Charlie hangs ever so slightly to the right, but once you get it in the branches on the tree, you won't notice.

I have several Hallmark ornaments based on A Charlie Brown Christmas, and each one perfectly captures that moment from the special.  This one is no exception.  If you love Peanuts or that special, you’ll really want to add A Very Special Tree to your collection.
