November 13th's Book Beginnings and Friday 56

Welcome to another Friday and another Book Beginnings and Friday 56.

This week, I'm reading Fillet of Murder by Linda Reilly.

This is the first in a series that came out a few months ago, but I'm finally getting to read it.  I'm just over half way done, so I'm making good progress.

Here's how it begins:

"Don't do it, Bea.  He's not worth it."  Talia Marby clamped her hand firmly around her employer's wrist, preventing Bea from pitching a chunk of fresh haddock at the man on the opposite side of the counter.

And jumping ahead of page 56, let's go with the first couple of sentences from the page:

For the second time that day, visions of a wardrobe designed around a single color scheme - orange - flashed through Talia's head.  "Jill, we have got to get out of here."

And that's it for this week.  Hope you have a fabulous weekend.

    1. Funny you should say that. Actually, the cat is a stray. I'm sure there will be plenty of fish in his future, however.

  6. No wardrobe should ever be orange, unless it's a very subdued orange xD This sounds like a fun book, especially with how that beginning gets you right into the action! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great weekend!

  9. I love that beginning! While I've never had a chunk of haddock handy to fling at someone I can completely understand the feeling!

    1. In this case, the character was referring to having to wear an orange jumpsuit for being in prison.
