August 4th's Book Beginning and Friday 56

Here we are again - Friday.  So that must mean it is time for Book Beginning and Friday 56.

This week, I'm featuring Cat About Town by Cate Conte.

This is the first in the new Cat Cafe series.  I just finished the book a couple of hours ago and really enjoyed it.  I'm planning on reviewing it next Thursday.

But in the meantime, here is how the book opens:

The cat's eyes had been on me during the entire service.

And when we just ahead to page 56, we find:

He glared at me now.  I recognized that look.  It said, You best not be leaving without me.

Short and sweet this week, but I need to get to bed.  Have a great weekend.

  1. Hahaha I have a cat now and he also has the habit of staring at me at random points during the day to get his point across. Sounds like it was a fun read, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing and I hope you have an amazing weekend!

  2. I have a 6 month old kitten. He still a bit too busy to sit and stare at me. But I know it's coming....

Glad you enjoyed this one. Happy weekend and here's my Friday Meets:

  3. I've been seeing this one everywhere and it's calling to me! I feel like since I've just adopted an orange cat I really need this one!

  4. That sure describes my cat. LOL She seemed to know what I was thinking or going to do. I've read some good reviews for this one and I can't resist a new cozy:)

  5. It really liked this one! But then, I love her series as Liz Mugavero. Haven't seen you visit my blog recently, Mark. Get your bottom over there and say hi! I have something yummy as always!

  6. Sounds like a fun series. I have Dead Man's Bridge by Robert J. Mrazek this week. Happy reading!

  7. Sounds like a cute read! Cats are so territorial over owners. :-)
    Happy weekend!
