Hallmark’s Star Wars Ornament Series Jumps to the New Movies in 2016

With one exception, Hallmark’s official Star Wars ornament series has focused on the original trilogy.  Based on how the ornament from the prequels did with fans, that was a wise decision.  The series moved to the new movies in 2016, however fans were thrilled this time.  The reason?  We got Han Solo from The Force Awakens.

As with most the ornaments in this series, the ornament consists of just the character.  In this case, we get Han Solo dressed in his leather jacket and pants over white shirt.  His hand is near his gun, and he is looking out as if danger is right there and he’s ready to face it.

Obviously, there isn’t a clear Christmas tie in to this ornament, but that’s not a surprise.  We collectors of this series collect it because we love the characters.  Honestly, if they were going to include the new movies in this series, starting with the old characters is the perfect way to go.  Yes, I have some previous Han Solo ornaments, but I like having him again from his final (sob!) appearance in a Star Wars film.

They even did a good job of capturing Han Solo’s face.  Oh, it’s not perfect, but it is close enough.  You know exactly who it is supposed to be as soon as you see the ornament, and his face is part of that.

Han Solo has no base, he’s just standing on his own two feet.  And stand he does, although he isn’t too stable.  Any little bump is going to make him fall over.  Fortunately, when you hang him on your tree, he hangs straight.  And that is how you are supposed to display Christmas ornaments, right?

Since this is the twentieth in the series, you’ll find the series marker on the ornament.  His feet are too small to have it down there, but if you look around, you can easily find it.

It is still fun to see the Star Wars ornament series bridging the gap into the new movies with Han Solo.  I have a feeling we will be seeing the new characters show up here in a few years, and I already can’t wait.

Star Wars fan?  You'll enjoy the rest of the ornaments in the official Star Wars series.

Original Price: $15.95
