Stunning Butterfly

While I have been enjoying all the ornaments in the Keepsake Cupcake series, I’ve been looking forward to Fluttering Beauty the most.  The first time I saw a picture, I thought it was pretty, but seeing it in person made it absolutely stunning.

The animal on the cupcake this time is a butterfly.  It’s orange and yellow with some red designs on its wings.  It has landed on the frosting of the cupcake, which is purple this time around.  We can see a bit of the vanilla cupcake sticking out of the red cupcake foil.  There are pieces of glitter on the frosting and the wings, and that glitter captures the light well.

Once again, this is one of those things I never would have thought to do, and I’m not sure why.  It is stunningly beautiful, and the glitter makes it more fun with how it catches the light.  The colors go together perfectly as well, making this something you can look at for hours.

Of course, you can include this with the rest of the year round display thanks to the nice, flat base.  This is a cupcake after all.  And you’ll find the series marker on the bottom as well.  Hard to believe we are up to eleven, isn’t it?

The hook for hanging the butterfly is in the middle of the wings.  It’s a bit hard to slip the hook in there, but when you do, you’ll find that it tips forward and to the right.  It’s actually a pretty bad tilt, which is a disappointment since it is the only flaw.  Fortunately, I wasn’t planning to hang this ornament, but if I were, I’d be very disappointed.

Of course, this tilt happens because the butterfly is actually off center on the cupcake.  Honestly, that gives it even more of an artistic flair.  For those of us planning to set this cupcake out to be displayed, this is a wonderful feature.

I’m so thrilled to finally have Fluttering Beauty in my ornament collection.  I have no doubt I will be enjoying it for years to come.
