December 9th's Book Beginnings and Friday 56

Welcome to another edition of Book Beginnings and Friday 56.

This week, we are visiting New Hampshire around Christmas.  No, I haven't changed genres.  It's still a mystery.  The title is Live Free or Die, and the book is by Jessie Crockett.

I've got a couple of great quotes from this book, too.  Here's the opening line of the book:
Beulah Price's body looked like a hotdog that had been left on the grill too long.

And here's the first complete sentence from page 56:

I probably should have worried that someone would come along and run me over, but I was so cold and miserable I was thinking dead would be a  nice change of pace.

See what I mean?  Both fun quotes.

I'll be reviewing the book on Monday, so I hope you'll come back and see what I thought of it.

Have a fantastic weekend!

  1. Yep. Both are good ones. And now I'm curious. The cover dioesn't really grab me and I might have passed this one by.
