We made it to Friday! That means it is time for another Friday Post, where I link up to:

Book Blogger Hop
This week, the teasers for the first three will come from A Christmas Candy Killing by Christina Romeril.
This is the first in a delicious new series. And it certainly has a beginning that will catch your attention:
What was an alliterative word that worked with cyanide? They’d used Strychnine Strawberry. Was there anything that went with hemlock?
No, it doesn't take more than a paragraph or two to figure out what is really going on, but I will leave it to you to figure out what that is.
Meanwhile, I'm going to jump to 56% in my ARC where we find this:
"I want to make sure my sister isn't about to be arrested, especially after what Penelope said."
What did Penelope say? Is the sister going to be arrested? Yes, I have a couple of short teasers this week, but I think they work very well that way, don't you?
I'll be reviewing this book on Tuesday as part of a blog tour. I hope you'll come back to see what I thought. There will be a tour-wide giveaway, too.
Now, let's jump into this week's Book Blogger Hop question:
Do you suggest new authors to your readers?
Funny that this should be the question this week when I pulled my teasers from a debut author. So yes, I do recommend new authors to my readers. Something, they are new, sometimes just new to me. But I like mixing some new authors in with the familiar favorites in my reading, so that's what you see on the blog.
I really like the quotes. They're bold, especially the beginning. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI definitely suggest new authors to my readers too. Here's my BBH: https://bonniereadsandwrites.com/2022/10/14/bookbloggerhop-introducing-new-authors/
ReplyDeleteI definitely suggest new authors to my readers all the time. Here's my BBH: https://bonniereadsandwrites.com/2022/10/14/bookbloggerhop-introducing-new-authors/
ReplyDeleteGreat excerpts. Now I want to know more!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great beginning! I definitely want to keep reading. Thanks for sharing! Hope you have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteI suggest things on Facebook Groups, mainly books though rather than a specific author.
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of that book and I love the cover!
Have a great weekend!

I am currently reading The Belle of Belgrave Square by Mimi Matthews. I am loving it!
ReplyDelete"Later that morning, after a brief stop at Doctors' Commons, Jasper bounded up the steps of the Wychwood townhouse in Belgrave Square."
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
This sounds like a fun book.
ReplyDeleteMy first line this week comes from a breathtaking book The Lost Melody by Joanna Politano.
ReplyDeleteOne day in late May of the year 1886, I found myself imprisoned in the Hurstwell Pauper Lunatic Asylum. This was unconscionable—- I had never been a pauper.
Christmas already?! LOL It's spooky season! :-) Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI have very few authors I will for-sure read so it is unlikely I will say anything to someone about an author unless it is one of these.

That is an interesting start. I hope you enjoy it. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm always on the lookout for a new cozy series and will give this one a closer look.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fun one. Love cozy mysteries.
ReplyDeleteThis looks fun and I love that beginning!
