Hello again. I took a couple of weeks off for the holidays, but I am back for this week's Book Beginnings and Friday 56.
This week, I'm featuring Quicksand by Gigi Pandian.
This is the third Jaya Jones Treasure Hunt Mystery. I'm way behind in this series, but I enjoyed getting to finally read this book.
Shall we get to it? Here's how the book begins:
"Is that the hilt of a sword sticking out of your purse?" Miles asked.
Moving on to page 56, we find this:
"Listen," I said, "I'm already in, so why not let me help?"
"First," Marcus said, "we order food and wine. I realize you're an American, but this is a civilized country."
As I said, I enjoyed the book. I hope you'll come back Tuesday for my review.
Have a great weekend!
Oooh, that's a really pretty cover! I love the purple. I know absolutely nothing about this book or series, but that first line has convinced me that I should look into it. xD I'm curious ... WAS it a sword?! I have questions now! The 56 snippet just cracked me up, too. Definitely throwing this one on my TBR.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Friday post.
I am unfamiliar with the series, but the snippets here really made me grin. Especially the second snippet.
ReplyDeleteAs for the first one, I really do hope it was a sword.
I'm intrigued by the 'Treasure Hunt' aspect to the books. They all sound fun!! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi,

I have a few books from this series on my Kindle and I can't wait to read them. It looks like my kind of series!
