Ornament Review: Just One Kiss - 2010 Hallmark Ornament

Just One Kiss Captures the Moment the Adventure Truly Starts

Last year saw the first new Disney princess movie in years, The Princess and the Frog.  But Hallmark waited until this year to release any ornaments related to the newest princess, Princess Tiana.  Just One Kiss is a great start to what I'm sure will be many ornaments with these characters.

The ornament is set near the beginning of the movie.  Tiana is in her big party dress.  It's flowing out around here, giving the ornament a nice base for standing.  There's a flower on one side, and you can even see her petticoats that look like flower pedal near the base.  In her hands, she is holding Prince Naveen in his frog get up.  Naveen is all puckered up and ready to be kissed, while Tiana still doesn't quite seem sure about the idea.

Hallmark artist Katrina Bricker has done an outstanding job of capturing the characters from the movie.  Tiana looks just like she does in the film.  Her face has captured a look that is a cross between disbelief in what she is about to do and resignation to go ahead and kiss the frog.  Even more amazing is that so does from Naveen.  I say that amazing only because he's barely an inch long if that.  The amount of detail is wonderful.

The ornament has lots of glitter.  All the pleats in the dress have it.  The light catching the glitter really looks nice, and I'm sure that sparkle will be great on the tree.  But it's hard to pick up the ornament without getting glitter all over your hands.  But that's just me being a grump.

I already mentioned the nice base on the ornament, making it nice and stable if you want to display it on a shelf.  There's the usual small brass hook on the top of Tiana's head so you can hang the ornament from a tree.  She tips every so slightly to one side and forward, but it's truly barely noticeable.

Disney fanatics, especially girls who love the princesses, will absolutely love Just One Kiss.  It's a great way to add the main characters from this new Disney classic to your tree.
